賈伯斯隨時記住…「我將不久人世」

「很遺憾，不過這是事實。有了小孩真的會改變你對這些事的看法。我們出生，短暫活在世上，然後逝去。一直都是這樣循環的。科技沒怎麼改變過這個循環，如果有任何影響的話。」
“I’m sorry, it’s true. Having children really changes your view on these things. We’re born, we live for a brief instant, and we die. It’s been happening for a long time. Technology is not changing it much -- if at all.”
「設計這個詞本身很有趣。有些人認為設計是指看起來怎麼樣。但如果更深入觀察，設計實際上和東西怎麼運作有關。Mac的設計不是在它的外觀，雖然那是一部份的內容。Mac的設計主要是在考慮它怎麼運作。要把某件東西真正設計好，你必須徹底了解它，掌握它真正的本質。你必須熱心投入，才能徹理了解某樣東西，消化它，而不是囫圇吞棗。大部分人並未花時間這樣做。」
“Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it’s really how it works. The design of the Mac wasn’t what it looked like, although that was part of it. Primarily, it was how it worked. To design something really well, you have to get it.You have to really grok what it’s all about. It takes a passionate commitment to really thoroughly understand something, chew it up, not just quickly swallow it. Most people don’t take the time to do that.
「對這樣複雜的東西來說，透過焦點團體來設計產品是非常困難的。很多時候，除非看到東西，否則人們是不知道他要的是什麼。」
“For something this complicated, it’s really hard to design products by focus groups. A lot of times,people don’t know what they want until you show it to them.”
「我們把螢幕上的按鈕做得很漂亮，美到你會想要舔舔看。
“We made the buttons on the screen look so good you’ll want to lick them.”
當海盜比加入海軍有趣多了！
“It’s more fun to be a pirate than to join the navy.”
2005年和癌症博鬥一場之後，賈伯斯應史丹福大學之邀，在畢業典禮上發表演說，演說裡有這麼一段話：
「這輩子幫我作人生大抉擇的最重要助力，是時時記住我將不久人世。差不多每一件事物：一切外在的期望、一切對困窘或失敗的恐懼，凡此一切在死亡面前都消失泯滅，只有真正重要的留下來。」
“Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything -- all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure -- these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.”
‧領袖和跟風者的區別就在於創新
‧成為卓越的代名詞，很多人並不能適合需要傑出素質的環境。
‧成就一番偉業的唯一途徑就是熱愛自己的事業。如果你還沒能找到讓自己熱愛的事業，繼續尋找，不要放棄。跟隨自己的心，總有一天你會找到的。
‧並不是每個人都需要種植自己的糧食，也不是每個人都需要做自己穿的衣服，我們說著別人發明的語言，使用別人發明的數學…我們一直在使用別人的成果。使用人類的已有經驗和知識來進行發明創造是一件很了不起的事情。
‧佛教中有一句話：初學者的心態；擁有初學者的心態是件了不起的事情。
‧我們認為看電視的時候，人的大腦基本停止工作，打開電腦的時候，大腦才開始運轉。
‧我是我所知唯一一個在一年中失去2.5億美元的人…這對我的成長很有幫助。
‧我願意把我所有的科技去換取和蘇格拉底相處的一個下午。
‧活著就是為了改變世界，難道還有其他原因嗎？
‧你的時間有限，所以不要為別人而活。不要被教條所限，不要活在別人的觀念裡。不要讓別人的意見左右自己內心的聲音。最重要的是，勇敢的去追隨自己的心靈和直覺，只有自己的心靈和直覺才知道你自己的真實想法，其他一切都是次要。
